for your depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, OCD, stress, or burnout.
Ketamine infusion therapy is a proven approach for addressing hard-to-treat conditions including depression, chronic pain, PTSD, and anxiety.
Ketamine is a medication that was originally developed in the 1960s as an anesthetic. Safe and effective, it quickly replaced older medications and became the drug of choice for the rapid sedation of wounded soldiers during the Vietnam War.
Ketamine is still used as an anesthetic today, but doctors have learned that when administered at a much lower dosage, it can produce fast and long-lasting relief from the symptoms of depression, PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder), chronic pain, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), anxiety, and stress-related disorders such as substance abuse and burnout.
Depression affects tens of millions of Americans every year, adversely affecting their ability to carry out major life activities and diminishing their quality of life. While the standard depression treatments can provide relief for some people, often it takes time to find the right combination of medications through “trial and error,” and even then the results can be incomplete. For many patients, ketamine treatment delivers fast, effective, long-lasting symptom relief, especially when used with other treatments.
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition often affecting people who have witnessed or experienced traumatic events. Military combat, physical or emotional abuse, and natural disasters are just some of the things that can cause PTSD. Traditional treatments for PTSD often take an extended period to produce a noticeable change in symptoms, and only provide limited relief for many patients. Ketamine infusion therapy can provide fast, longer-term results in many patients when used in conjunction with other therapies.
Chronic pain is defined as experiencing pain every day for 12 weeks or more. In a one year period, between 50-100 million American adults will experience chronic pain, and nearly 80% of those who do will experience depression as a result. Treatments with pain relievers, corticosteroids, and other medications rarely provide complete relief. Ketamine reduces chronic pain both by blocking pain receptors and “resetting” over-stimulated pain pathways. At the same time, it improves the symptoms of depression and anxiety associated with chronic pain.
Stress-related disorders include PTSD, OCD, Burnout syndrome and Substance Use Disorders. Traditional treatments are few and fraught with long delays before the patient experiences a reduction of symptoms, and incomplete symptom relief for the majority of patients. Treatments for burnout and substance use disorders are few, variably effective and center around long periods of counseling and frequent recurrence.. Ketamine infusion therapy has been shown to provide rapid and robust improvement in the symptoms of many stress-related disorders, particularly when used in concert with cognitive behavioral therapy and other forms of counseling. Ketamine is also rapidly effective in decreasing the symptoms of depression and anxiety associated with these conditions.
